Freya Mathews is an Australian philosopher and author. Her work is mainly concerned with ecological philosophy but also deals with questions of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics and politics, as well as cosmology, place, personal identity, and indigeneity versus modernity.〔Eric Katz, Andrew Light, David Rothenberg, ''Beneath the Surface: Critical Essays in the Philosophy of Deep Ecology'', MIT Press, 2000, p.
